Triple M Country

Triple M Country operates as a dedicated digital station under Southern Cross Austereo’s (SCA) national Triple M network, streaming seamlessly across Australia via the LiSTNR app and broadcasting on DAB+ in major capital cities. Built primarily for tradies on the job site, daily commuters, and country fans who prefer a driving beat over glossy pop, the station carves out a distinct niche in the local radio landscape.

Rather than sticking to acoustic folk or traditional roots, the channel turns up the volume with high-rotation modern hits, country-rock anthems, and heavy-hitting crossover tracks. SCA’s music directors shape the daily playlist around current streaming data, global chart shifts, and regional airplay trends. While the line is automated - meaning no live call-ins or track requests - listener feedback, app engagement, and annual countdowns actively dictate which songs stay in heavy rotation.

The sound profile balances massive global stars like Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, and Shaboozey alongside standard-setting local acts including James Johnston, Casey Barnes, and The Wolfe Brothers. Fresh releases and rising artists from both Nashville and the local scene regularly break into the mix, keeping the lineup energetic without straying from commercial radio formats.

What keeps people tuned in is the station's clear point of difference. While most commercial FM stations stay locked into Top 40 pop and public networks like ABC Country focus on traditional roots and folk, Triple M Country bridges the gap. It mixes slick, modern Nashville production with a gritty rock edge and distinct Aussie pub-rock sensibilities.
